Trading online doesn't cost a fortune Tesco and Amazon spent millions creating their online
shops - you don't have to. Without a doubt their shops are
amazingly complicated and full of wonderful features but it
isn't necessary (or often desirable) to create that sort of
shop initially.
Basic
requirements are:
shopping basket software
internet merchant account
method of accepting payment
Shopping basket system:
We recommend Actinic Catalog or Actinc Business for most
businesses wanting to create an online store. It is now extremely
flexible and offers everything from store creation to order
processing. www.actinic.co.uk.
However, if your requirements cannot be met using Actinic,
we can produce a system tailored to your exact requirements.
Example of Actinic Catalog shop
Shop4Sport.co.uk
is the ecommerce enabled end point for Forrester Sports
group of websites, the other sites being:
If you haven't already got a merchant account through your
bank, WorldPay can help. They have an acceptance rate of over
90% and you could start using your internet payment facilities
in as little as 48 hours.
Accepting Credit Cards
We will integrate the shopping basket system with a secure
payment processing system. There are many to choose from for example WorldPay.
With these systems you can select to either link direct to
your merchant provider (e.g. Barclays Merchant Services, NatWest
Streamline etc) so that payment is taken as soon as the customer
clicks on the "Accept" button, or the system can
store the customers credit card details in a secure database
ready for collection by you and for you to process in your
own time using your PDQ terminal.
